| Weston
Fifteen years ago, the city of Weston was merely a plan on paper, drawn up by the Arvida Corporation as a 10,000-acre Hometown of the Future. But since homebuilding began in 1985, Weston has attracted more than 38,00'0 residents who enjoy a lavish greenery, numerous lakes and waterways, acres of parks, and attractively landscaped boulevards. Perhaps Weston's biggest attraction, though, is its location right at the intersection of 1-75, 1-595 and the Sawgrass Expressway. Many residents commute to jobs in Miami-Dade County, downtown Fort Lauderdale or Boca Raton to the north. |

In recent years, the city has seen dramatic growth in its shopping areas, restaurants, office parks and cultural amenities that were lacking in Weston's early years. A large-scale Weston Art Festival, held in November, is one of the city's main cultural events. Weston has a wide variety of attractive neighborhoods, including Windmill Ranch Estates, whose large lots and custom homes draw South Florida sporting and entertainment celebrities, as well as business and civic leaders.
