Along Biscayne Bay, older single-family homes in neighborhoods such as
Morningside and Edgewater bring an old-fashioned charm to the City of
Miami. Another high-end neighborhood in Miami-Dade's largest city, population
365,000, is Brickell Avenue. Located just south of the city's financial
district, this area includes estate homes from the 1920's and new high-rise
condominiums that look out toward Key Biscayne. In the past decade, the
island neighborhood of Brickell Key has filled with moderately priced
condominiums and rental apartments that are just a ten-minute walk from
downtown.
